Not that we're great believers in organised religion - i'm laughing as i write that - but this morning will find me and 1 & 2 at Shabbat Shira/the sabbath of song, where a special melody will be chanted by a favourite teacher of ours, AT.
AT is a stunning chanter, really. She posesses one of those effortless, crystalline, nightingale-light soprano voices that i'd always wanted to have... and to boot - she's a wonderful person too. Actually i've known her since college, though we had to be reintroduced several years back because we didn't recognize each other!! Hey life happens. i'd been gone 10 years. She'd changed her looks, was now called by her full first name, changed her last name (got married), and changed her religion! LoL
Anyways, because it is a special sabbath and AT is reading and gathering the ritual crew, AT wanted her students to help lead the ritual (a typically sweet-of-her thought). She asked #1 if she would sing a prayer and #2 to carry the Torah. Who could resist an invitation like that, especially from her?!
So - - - Off we go like a herd of turtles! #1 in her immobilizer brace, and #2 (in brand new clothes bought last night because he's grown so much it was comical watching him try stuff on!) being his typical monosyllabic self. This should be pretty cool. :)
